“Never leave your partner behind”

You are about to embark on a life changing experience when you view this incredible film. The quality of this story is simply amazing, especially in a spiritual and moral sense. And yet, it is edge-of-your-seat entertainment. You will engage intense drama, nail biting excitement, plot and subplot, romance and fear. One moment you will be laughing and the next trying not to cry. Kids will cheer, and adults will check their racing hearts. It is so real, so true, and will relate to everyone in many ways.

“Fireproof” is a story of true love, hope and salvation in a day when marriages are marked with infidelity, lack of commitment and selfishness. As we cheer fireman Captain Caleb Holt into burning buildings and runaway disasters, he and his wife, human relations director Catherine Holt, struggle with ordinary everyday marital issues. Bank accounts, dry cleaning, shopping and doing the dishes become small sparks that result in a devastating fire to their hearts and souls. While Caleb enjoys the role of community hero and somewhat of a savior, he finds it impossible to contain the inferno of his own marriage. Catherine sees no hero here, but rather finds him disappointing as husband, provider, and friend.

As the movie progresses, we continue to enjoy the excitement of Caleb’s job as fire chief. Fires are fought, people are saved and heroes receive their accolades. But the fire at home rages on. As the couple conclude that their marriage is a mistake and that their personal lives offer so much more excitement than their married life, in steps Caleb’s father. Himself a contributor to a damaged marriage in the past, he offers his son a challenge and a gift just prior to the divorce papers being signed. His simple request: would his son take a 40 day challenge before Caleb inks those fateful documents. As a favor to his dad, Caleb complies and begins a venture into what a true husband and hero really are. And on this journey, he finds an even greater Gift—and Love than he knew existed. As this self-centered hero becomes a selfless servant, his wife warms to the Gift Caleb has received and begins her own spiritual awakening.

The struggles that this marriage encounter are contemporary issues that hold some truth in all of our lives and might even hit a little too close to home. While sin is dealt with at face value, I appreciated the producers ability to demonstrate it without sucking us in. It might sound a little odd, but these sin issues were tastefully and respectfully addressed. I might want to relate to sin that someone else is dealing with, but I don’t want to fall into it or have it become a struggle simply by watching a movie about it. It is painfully clear that Captain Holt struggles with many sin issues. His marriage suffers for it, and we cringe as we see him fall prey to it. But I did not feel that the movie itself was a carrier for this temptation. There was no need to close my eyes or feel ashamed to have my wife (or Jesus for that matter) sitting next to me.

In the same way, Catherine Holt is tempted and then seduced by a sin issue. Again, we are not drawn into it or given such gory details that we feel like we have become a part of it. I have yet to see the effectiveness of this thematic detail accomplished so well as in “Fireproof.” It allows me to fully recommend adults viewing this film without shuddering as to how they will deal with it. In the end, I certainly did find myself praying against the prowling adversary that plagues us all (I Peter 5:8,9). Thank you Alex and Stephen Kendrick (producer/writers/actor) for taking such care in producing this film.

There, of course, will be critics. I’m sure the focus will be on the actors and their ability to turn in Oscar® winning performances. Here is what I can really appreciate about his movie. It balances on the story and the subtle but powerful message of hope in Christ. In these days of multi-million dollar actors and actresses, “Fireproof” does not rely on them to carry this story. With Kirk Cameron as the only recognized professional actor, the characters become humble bearers of this wonderful story. Undoubtedly, they will receive the praises of their Heavenly Father without need for the fickle and fleeting kudos of an Oscar’s committee.

“Fireproof” has deep adult issues that it deals with. Having said that, I believe that it would be beneficial to take your teens. The adult issues are ones that you can talk through with them and learn some excellent life lessons that should not be ignored. “Fireproof” is a great opportunity to dialogue concerning sin issues and the good news of salvation. While your kids under 12 would enjoy the heart-pounding excitement of “Fireproof,” you would need to evaluate whether they are mature enough to discuss divorce, marital conflict and sin issues.

For those of you that pick up every detail, watch for the unusual stunt double scene at the end of the story. If you can find the mystery actor, it will reveal the amazing care, authenticity and integrity that was put into the making of this movie.

If you want to see a movie that will tug at your heart and could possibly change your life and marriage, you must see this film. We loved it and are excited to tell our friends. In fact, we aren’t waiting for the DVD. We’re going to take as many people as we can and see it on the big screen again.

Thank you Sherwood films. You’ve done it again (“Flywheel,” “Facing the Giants”). What an amazing movie. What a powerful tool. What an exciting ride.

Positive - My wife and I just finished watching this movie and we feel that is one of the best movies we have seen this year. It has action, humor, and drama throughout the movie. We have not seen a movie of this caliber in a long time. We recommend that everyone see this one.

Positive - I watched this film with my husband and 3 of my children. One teen and 2 younger. All of us liked the film. I especially liked the fact that it dealt with real life issues. It clearly showed that Jesus is the answer, and that when we do things his way we will be blessed. I would totally recommend this film.

Positive - A wonderful film. Went to the evening performance with my wife and two teenagers and was very surprised to find it 'SOLD OUT', so went back this morning early and thoroughly enjoyed this God-respecting, Christ-honoring, marriage-building movie. Such a beautiful story line and very well made. Some great acting, cinematography, lighting, suspense and humor. Some of the actors were obviously professionals and others maybe acting for the first time, but it was all held together with heart, passion and some nice music from bands like Third Day, and singers like Mark Hall of Casting Crowns. Go see it and take your friends and your entire church.

Positive - Wow, can I say that, will that explain how much I liked it and what it meant to me? No, let explain. They hit the mark; the marriage mark, the relationship mark, the christian mark, the what movies should be about mark. This movie is everything I was hoping it would be, and that's a lot. Everyman in this nation needs to see this movie. After saying that to a friend, he said, after seeing the movie, 'Now if I can just get my wife to see it.' We are hurting, and this movie is like a balm of ointment that can heal. Kirk, you did a good job on this movie. God helped make this movie, and I'm glad they gave Him credit, and by the way, read the credits, it's really neat to see the catering names, way to go you guys, keep up the God work.
In Him,
tim

Positive - I was very excited to see this movie and support another Christian film! I was not disappointed at all! I have loved Kirk Cameron since his 'Growing Pains' days and have also followed his career as he has produced 'The Way of the Master.' The movie was very well done i felt. The characters were believable and their struggles were very real. It was hard to watch at times because the marital struggles were so real and hit close to home, however I am so very glad that I watched it with my husband by my side! We both knew the reality of their struggles were ones we had dealt with and only gained victory through Christ as well.
I was very impressed with all the topics that the film addressed, respect of your spouse, pornography, adultery, honoring your parents, having no other Gods, etc... This will really touch all people on some level and be very convicting. I also loved the fact that Kirk retained his intergrity by 'secretly' kissing his wife Chelsea in the finale scene. Way to go Kirk!
I recommend this movie to every one who is married now or aspires to be someday! You will take something from it to apply to your marriage, i am sure!

Positive - I just returned from viewing this movie with my mother and children. This movie was fantastic. I loved the idea of a movie that reminds us that marriage is a lifetime commitment. The acting and film quality were not always the best but the views expressed and impression that it left on its viewers made these small things easy to overlook. Marriage and divorce are difficult subjects that people are often willing to overlook. Divorce has become common place in our society and to have a movie that speaks contrary is incredible! Not only was the message of this movie fantastic but there was just enough commedy and excitement to appeal to all movie lovers. In fact there were times where I had to tell my 10-year-old to stop laughing so loud as the funny parts are extremely entertaining. I recomend this movie to married couples, or singles, or anyone who wants to appreciate God's perfect plan for marriage. Take note of the significance that the wedding ring played in this film and realize what an amazing symbol that ring can be. And also realize that this is not a lone story in our world but there are people out there who everyday continue to wear a wedding ring even for marriages that have 'burned to the ground' waiting on the restoration that only a faith in God can provide! This is a must see movie for everyone!

Positive - We drove about 60 miles to see this on its' opening weekend and oh was it worth it! This movie has laughter, tears and the audience actually applauded at the end. This movie has so much to offer. There are no scenes that are even slightly offensive. Yes, Caleb has an issue with porn but it is never revealed with any views into his computer. Even for those who consider their marriage a good one, this movie will challenge spouses to be more of a blessing to their mate. The revelation that true love can only come from a person who has accepted the love of Jesus Christ is awesome.

—Kim Hubbard, age 41

Positive - This was the best movie! I would highly recommend it. It showed the only way we can truly love someone else is when we come to know the love of Jesus Christ and His redeeming love. So thankful that we could go to a movie and come out feeling good. Please Hollywood would you wake up to the fact that this is what we want to see. I usually don't see movies more than once, but I would see this one again.

Positive - I just saw Fireproof, and man, I LOVED IT!!! It was one of the best movies I’ve ever seen!!!! The message you leave the theater with is so great!!! It was better than any marriage sermon I've ever heard!! I laughed throughout the film, I loved all the action scenes, all the acting was fantastic, and don’t tell anyone, but I even got a little misty a few times. And the fact that the movie doubled as evangelistic with a great gospel presentation nearly made me swoon. This movie was simply incredible!!!

Positive - We just saw the movie tonight. We loved it from beginning to end.
My husband and I can't wait to go to church in the morning and
tell the congregation about it. We think every couple should see
this movie and not just the marriages in trouble. We thank God
for everyone involved in making this movie and will be praying
that it spreads through the movie theatres across this nation.
God Bless You.

Positive - My wife and I went with our church group to see this movie. We all thought it was wonderful. It was very funny in parts, and yet it dealt so well with the issues and struggles we face in marriage. I thought the reactions from people who were confronted with different issues were right on, especially the yelling and beating up of certain household items. The Gospel message was also very present and clear which, as an evangelist, I truly love and appreciate. I cannot recommend this movie enough for anyone who is married or even considering getting married. You will not be disappointed.
My Ratings: Moral rating: Excellent! / Moviemaking quality: 4.5
—Evangelist Jason Osborne, age 32

Positive - This movie far exceeded my expectations with a great plot and great acting. I needed to use the restroom about halfway through but was so engaged in the movie that I waited until the movie was over - make sure you use the restroom before the movie. If you have been looking for a good film to give you a reson to go to the movies again, this is it. Get to the theatre and support this movie and sherwood pictures. Let them know that we want more great films like Fireproof on the big screen.
My Ratings: Moral rating: Excellent! / Moviemaking quality: 5

Positive - My wife and I went and saw Fireproof last night and were both theroughly blown away by it! I work in the emergency field and so was drawn to the movie by that aspect of it, and as my wife and I sat and watched it, we felt so many similarities to things we experience (though I can thankfully say God has been blessing our marriage greatly so far). Also, I am so thankful that this film openly addressed the distructive nature of pornography in a marriage. This is something I had struggled with for over a decade until I had a similar experience to the character Caleb in which I had to choose to serve God or my addiction and destroyed my computer. As a whole, this movie was nothing but encouraging and affirming of the truth that no matter how good of a person we may be, or on the flip side, how horrible we treat even those that love us, we have no hope other than Christ, yet He is hope enough to completely free us from our sin and give us eternal life.

I would recommend inviting everyone you know to this movie. Divorce is something we can all relate to somehow, and I don't think there will be a single person who sees this film who won't be moved by it, and it presents the Good news of Jesus Christ in such a tangible way that even the hardest of unbelievers will be unable to walk away without giving thought to their own need for a Saviour.

Positive - Going to see 'Fireproof' on opening night was my birthday present from my husband. I have been so excited for another wonderful movie from Sherwood Pictures to be on the big screen! The movie was excellent! We laughed, cried, and just thoroughly enjoyed it. I encourage married couples to see it with their spouses. Even if you have a good, strong marriage, it will serve as a conversation starter about your own relationship with your spouse and with the Lord. The movie was a blessing to us, and I am so thankful to the Kendrick brothers for making every effort to honor the Lord through the work of their hands. Once the DVD is out, we are planning on showing it and doing the follow up study with our church group.

Don't miss this movie!

Positive - This is an awesome movie for any married couple! My husband and I went to see it on opening night and the movie was packed! This movie is so uplifting and honestly shares the struggles that men and women face individually and in their relationships with their spouse. It was so awesome to go and see such an awesome christian movie. The movie was not only encouraging and truthful but it also had parts of the movie that were hilarious! The funny parts had everyone in the theatre laughing!! The movie made several references to God and Jesus Christ. If your thinking about taking your spouse to see it, stop thinking and GO SEE IT! You and your marriage will definately leave the theatre blessed!!
My Ratings: Moral rating: Excellent! / Moviemaking quality: 4.5
—Evalani Moultrie, age 26

Positive - It is so nice to be entertained by a movie without being concerned about foul language, sexual inuendos, and other inappropiate content. It was filled with action, romance, and comedy that made it appealing to a varied audience. Kirk Cameron's portrayal of 'Caleb' was convincing and worth 'Hollywood's' recognition as well done. The subjects addressed in the movie, such as pornography and marital problems, were presented and addressed with great forethought, and obviously, prayer. To everyone who worked on this film, thank you for not only entertaining us, but also for showing the world what a difference Christ can make in people's lives. By the way, when the movie was over, the audience responded in applause. There aren't many movies like that anymore!
My Ratings: Moral rating: Excellent! / Moviemaking quality: 4

Positive - This movie is a TRUE blessing from God!

Do not wait to see this movie! GO OUT AND SEE IT TODAY!

Fireproof packs such an emotional punch that your stomach will feel like you've been riding a roller coaster for two hours. The movie carries several messages that any of us can learn from. I enjoyed it so much that I saw it twice on two days! This is an independent film with most of the actors being volunteers so not everyone is spot on. However, I think all of the actors did a great job. Kirk Cameron was especially good in his performance and was able to convey some very touching emotions. Leave it to the Kendrick brothers to hit you hard with raw emotion only to quickly pick you back up with a hefty doses of humor. This movie is funny. Sounds strange with such a serious topic as divorce, but there is a lot of humor in this film that saves this movie from being one big cry fest. Trust me, this is one of the funniest movies I have seen in years. It only proves that you don't need gross out humor to get laughs. There's something for everyone in this movie. I gave it the highest rating. PLEASE don't miss out. Watch through the film for various people who appear in 'Flywheel' and 'Facing the Giants.' Pay special attention to the tag on Caleb's truck and the names of the stores on the sign marquee. Also check out the name on Caleb's baseball bat. There are quite a few references in this movie.

Bring a friend or two or three to this movie! I'd just suggest leaving the kids home because of the subject matter. Teens will do ok but younger kids will be left asking questions.

Positive - If want a synopsis of the movie and its plot, then read the main review above - my review is very simply a recommendation to GO SEE IT! I would confidently recommend this movie to anyone (best for teenager and above - but not a problem for those younger). It theme will hit home with married couples but will also help singles and even teenagers who need to be shown a great example of what true love is all about. The grip that Hollywood has had on defining love has been broken with this movie. One of the few times that I have left a movie and didn't feel like I had to apologize or make excuses for certain scenes or make exceptions to my moral standards. The goal of this movie is not to make money - not to simply entertain you - but to give you a taste of what God's love is like and make you hungry for that kind of love and relationship. In that regard, this movie hits a home run. I paid $10 to see it and the impact it had on my life is worth millions - another ironic twist - the makers of this movie are clearly in this to be a blessing to others - not to reap a blessing of money or fame. Few in Hollywood will understand this concept. I feel very comfortable saying that you should see this movie.

Positive - I am so grateful for this film! I am so proud of the Kindrick Brothers for making a film that is based on sound, Biblical-principles without any form of compromise, for making a film that reaches deep into the hearts of all people, whether they are followers of Jesus or not, and that they have given us a quality tool for reaching out to others who may be struggling in their marriage. I love that they have chosen to address the issue of marriage, particularly in a time that the world is placing so much of the spotlight on relationships that are sinful in the eyes of God. I can't thank enough the people who made this movie!!! Thank you!

Positive - This movie was very good! Finally a Christian movie that doesn't copy cat the world to get a laugh! I have prayed for Christian artists to do what God has called them to do. Positive - Our whole family was looking forward to seeing FIREPROOF since we’re all Kirk Cameron fans. The opening day, September 26, just happened to be the day after our 20th wedding anniversary. We were celebrating the occasion by taking a road trip to show the kids a few of our honeymoon places – San Francisco, Point Reyes, and Yosemite. We wanted to go to a FIREPROOF matinee on the first day it was released, but we were 600 miles from home in a town we had never been to before. A nice helpful lady at the Merced Visitor’s Center directed us to a cinema on Main Street in downtown Merced, California that was showing FIREPROOF. What a great anniversary present! We and our three boys – ages 18, 13, and 8 – all loved the movie. It had enough excitement, humor, and drama to satisfy everyone. It’s wonderful to see a movie of this caliber hit the mainstream without all of the offensive stuff that is so prevalent in movies today. FIREPROOF raised the standards of morality on the big screen. The fact that the movie included a wonderful gospel presentation made it even better! I especially liked the ending when they renewed their vows with a covenant marriage ceremony. That’s exactly what we did for our 10th wedding anniversary. The institute of marriage is magical. It’s a gift from God that’s meant to withstand the hardest of times. It can be a challenge, but bad times don’t last forever. Just leave the word divorce out of your vocabulary and put some effort into upholding a long-term commitment, and the value your whole family receives will be well worth it.

Positive - There is nothing but excellent things to say about this movie. I do not want to give too much details because I think it might give it away, but this movie is about two good people that end up not seeing eye to eye to the point where they are the brink of divorce. Then, the husband's dad asks his son for a favor. The rest of the movie is around the steps the husband takes with his father's request.

I enjoyed this movie immensely. The movie dealt with issues that any and every couple in the US could have. It truly shows how if we do not have the Lord what road we could go down. I loved the acting because I truly felt the wife's pain towards her husband. I also cried the last thirty minutes of the movie. This movie made me laugh one minute and cry the next minute. It was so worth every penny to see this in the movie theater.

I just want to say that this is not just some message. This is the gospel of Jesus Christ. This movie is an excellent opportunity to minister to people that you might know who are struggling in their marriage. Don't forget to bring lots of tissues when you see this movie.

Positive - Wonderful movie! Husband and I, two grown children, and our teenage daugther, went to see this movie last night. We laughed and cried! A movie for anyone who really needs a lift and the truth revealed in their life(which is all of us)! In a world that has not much respect for family values anymore, this is a keeper. We are missing what true riches are, family! And this film delivers. Thanks to the people from cast to crew who made this movie, we need more of them.

Positive - We couldn't wait for this movie to come out after viewing Flywheel and Facing the Giants. WOW!! Each production by Sherwood just keeps getting better and better! How refreshing to take your family to a truly family-friendly movie that portrays Christian morals.
This movie was incredible in that it unashamedly presented the Gospel of Christ.

There are few movies I have ever seen in large theaters where people clap at the conclusion of a movie but in Facing the Giants and Fireproof, everyone clapped at the end.

The overriding theme in this movie is forgiveness. It spoke to me personally and will be a tremendous blessing to everyone who sees it.
My Ratings: Moral rating: Excellent! / Moviemaking quality: 3.5
—J. Matthews, age 40

Positive - Real life issues shown from an honest and vulnerable perspective, this movie is an incredible testimony to the power of humility and God's love flowing through those who surrender to Him. Absolutely a MUST SEE for everyone over 13 - small children may have trouble with the heated conversations and mild peril. There is nothing in this movie that is offensive. The acting is superb and Kirk Cameron really gets the message across as to what is going on inside his soul throughout the entire movie. The main focus and theme of the movie is never abandoned and the viewer is taken right through the journey from beginning to end. Nothing is sacrificed in the plot for the sake of sensationalism and thanks be to God, the Truth of the Gospel is never compromised either. What a beautiful message of hope!

GO SEE THIS MOVIE AND TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO GO ALSO. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

Positive - I love love love this movie. I very much appreciate the chance Kirk Cameron took to do a movie that would get the gospel to non-believers. I couldn't believe I was in a regular movie theater at 8 o'clock on a Friday night seeing such a wholesome movie with a wonderful message. It seemed I would only see something like that in my own living room. I hope many people see this movie. What a great way to get people thinking about God.

—Rachel C., age 34

Positive - I had eagerly been awaiting this film as soon as I heard it was going to be made. I loved Facing the Giants and Flywheel, so I was expecting great things from this movie! I wasn't disapointed in any way. Fireproof has excitement, comedic scenes, and also touching scenes. There was nothing objectionable in the film, and I think anyone of any age can or should see this. Young ones might be bored, but otherwise I don't see any reason why anyone can't see it. The 'Love Dare' is something I think we should all apply to those we love, not just those who are married to one another. I know I can use it with my brothers and sisters, and it would made a definete difference in our relationships and attitudes towards one another. I can't wait to own this on DVD!

Positive - Any couple (married, engaged or just dating) would make a huge investment in their relationship by viewing this movie. My wife and I both cried, and laughed and cheered; and at the end ... the audience gave a huge round of applause. If your relationship with your spouse or significant other isn't where it should be, this movie is worth many hours in front of a marriage counselor. If you have married children or gandchildren, encourage them to go see it. And if they don't, buy them a DVD of Fireproof for Christmas and then buy yourself a copy and play it to your family during the holidays. The very marriage this movie could save could be your own or one of children's ... what a blessing that would be!

Positive - I've seen this movie twice in theaters, and I plan to see it many more times. This is a GREAT movie about a couple who has a struggling marriage, and the husband gets a book that takes him on a 40-day journey of loving/serving his wife and restoring their marriage. This is a great movie created by the people who filmed 'Facing the Giants' and 'Flywheel'. I think this is one of their bests, it's awesome! Erin Bethea is a newcomer in the movies, and I honestly thinks she really needs to pursue more roles. She's an awesome actress, and Kirk Cameron did a good job too. I say, go see this movie with your whole family. Bring a couple friends with you too. Really support this movie so this church can make other movies like this. I'm planning on seeing it over and over again until it comes out on DVD. And when that day comes, the only thing I can do it by the DVD and add it to my collection! :)

Positive - At first I was caught up in the unconvincing acting and the lack of smooth transitions between scenes. It wasn't too long before I started getting into the plot, and looking past those shallow elements. I really fell in love with the story and even the delivery of the message. It made me take notice and appreciate my marriage more. This is a great tool for any couple. By the time I went home I had already sent a text message to recommend it to two other people. I will definitely buy this on video and may even see it again in the cinema.

Positive - I loved this movie! It had a really strong message about relationships and what makes and breaks them. It also made me laugh as well as tear up. Kirk Cameron does a very convincing job as Caleb. Go and see it and take people too!

Positive - My wife and I never go to movies due to the cussing, etc on most movies. This movie was great to go on a date with my wife. I enjoyed the buttery popcorn however more than that I was reminded to love my wife as Christ loves me. I saw sacrifice, etc. Great film. I had to fight back the tears. I would definitely recommend this film. The film shows the plan of salvation. Also it is intense and keeps the action coming.

Positive - Go see this movie! The reason I say that is because, it is just the kind of movie we need for this day and age. There is no foul language. Not even God's name is taken in vain. The only thing suggestive is the main character's wife starts to hang out with a doctor (a very interesting twist in the movie.) I will not say more because you should see this movie for yourself.

It focuses on friendships as well as married life. It teaches and focuses on how relationships can effect you, even the friends you have.

I will admit the acting was decent and it more of a Hallmark film tone to it, but a very well made Hallmark film. My sister disagrees. She thought it was on par with a very well made Indie film. The best actor in the whole movie was Kirk Cameron. I had only known him for his role in the sitcom 'Kirk' and for his role in the Left Behind series. In both he acts very well. This movie proves he it. I was very impressed.

Go see this movie, and if you only like boxoffice smashes, at least buy a ticket to support it. It is worth the price of one, or my case, three tickets.

Positive - I seen this movie with my 16 year old daughter and we didn't want to leave when it was over. We couldn't stop crying.

I divorced my wife in 1996, and I think this movie would have been a better counselor to married couples going down the road to divorce then what is out there now. I wish I would have had this to help me with my crumbling marriage. God moved in the writers and film makers who had their hands and especially their hearts in the making of this film. Thank you for giving me hope in my everyday life.

Positive - I loved this movie! As an aspiring writer-director, I love a film with a great script-- a script with complex characters, a script with many interweaving plot lines, a script that makes the audience think--a script that stays with the audience long after they leave the theater. Fireproof was one of those great scripts! The two main characters were complex and well developed. The audience could easily identify with their pain and struggles, but also wanted to root for them to work out their problems. I also loved the strong, bold Christian message. The filmmakers were unashamed in professing their Christian beliefs and morals in this film and I strongly commend them for this. I have seen all of the films by this church and each one gets exponentially better than the previous one. I found the acting to be very good as well. Kirk Cameron did an excellent job with his role portraying the intense internal struggle over deciding whether or not to proceed with a divorce. Erin Bethea also did a very good job with her character. Though she had some 'cheesy' moments, for the most part I found her portrayal of her character believable. The supporting actors were pretty terrible and hoakie, but the message in this movie is too powerful to let that discourage you from sitting through the whole film. I've already heard of marriages being saved through people going to see this movie. In addition, the overall film quality was much improved in this film compared to Facing the Giants. In conclusion, I strongly urge people to take their families to see this movie. Encourage the work that this church is doing through film!

Neutral

Neutral - As an aspiring filmmaker I despise bad movies. I am a follower of Jesus Christ(I claim no denomination, because Jesus didn't claim one) But I think you guys are being very biased in your review of this movie. Just because it's a Christian film, doesn't mean it is any good. It had a very K-lovey feel to it and it was almost as bad as Facing The Giants. The plots fit right into the Christian Stereotype, and the acting was horrible. The only good thing about the film was the film/camera work. If you want to be a good witness of Jesus go to a secular movie and talk to the person sitting next you, who knows? maybe the topic of God will come up. I just think that sitting in church, sitting in a Christian movie, going to a Christian school accomplishes nothing. Rent it when the movie comes out in DVD. Don't waste your money.

Positive - AWESOME!!!! A must see for any Christian and will be a great tool for bringing marriages together and the lost to the LORD. I went to see it with my church and everyone absolutely loved it. I would encourage everyone to see it and bring your friends; lets keep this movie in theaters! The lessons learned in this movie are applicable to everyone: love is not simply a feeling and can only come from the Father; lead your heart, don't follow it, for it will lead you astray; never leave your partner.

Positive - We had known about Fireproof for several months, and we, being big fans of Alex Kendrick's movie Facing the Giants, were eager to support it on its opening night. We all loved it! For one thing, the acting was brought up several notches from Facing the Giants. Kirk Cameron was incredible! The storyline was interesting and engaging. And very humorous moments were scattered plentifully amongst the two hours of screen time.

Violence is minimal. Caleb crawls through a burning house to save a young girl, Two cars get wrecked while drag racing, leaving one girl in bad condition. A small trace of blood can be found on her nose. To make things all the more tense, the care with the two girls in it lies on some train tracks, with a train approaching, and one of the fireman is inches away from getting hit by it. The scene at the beginning shows a disturbing argument between Caleb and Katherine. And throughout Caleb is shown one three occasions taking a baseball bat to a few of his possessions in a failed attempt to vent his rage. At the end, Caleb takes a baseball bat to his computer, the source of his internet pornography addiction.

I completely recommend this movie for EVERYONE. No matter what faith, or age. This is a movie that needs to be watched. This movie seriously made me cry, and I'm a guy, so that says something.

One thing that I feel that most Christians have done is give up on Hollywood. I does seem like a lost cause, but it isn't. An important thing to remember is how powerful God is. He can change the hearts of the hundreds of actors and directors in Hollywood. I personally feel that God is already starting to work in Hollywood, using people like Alex Kendrick as his tools. The battle isn't over, people. It's just beginning. Keep praying.

Positive - This is an amazing movie that I strongly encourage everyone to see. It's one of the best I've seen this year! The movie was well made, clean, and clearly presented two important messages: the importance of Jesus in your life and why marriages are worth saving. You couldn't leave the theater without hearing both - neither message was hidden, but instead told clearly.
The movie was at times funny and exciting, as well as moving. Usually movies don't make me cry, but this one moved me to tears at several points! It kept you interested all the way through. It's worth every penny you spend to see it in theater.
'Fireproof' was even better than I expected and I'm so glad we went - it's one I'll want to see again on DVD!
Go see this movie - and tell your friends to see it too! Even if you're not the kind of person/family who usually goes to the theater, I'd make this movie one of the occasions where you do - it's well worth it! This is the kind of movie that needs our support - a movie that presents a Christian message and may even save marriages.

Positive - I saw this movie with one of my friends and then one of her friends. We are all christians and loved this movie. It really hit home for us because one of us are actually going through something like this. Most of the christian movies really are blah...but this movie was terrific. I beg you people go and see it. Support it big time! They need our help to keep them afloat in a world were anything people want to see has sexual content in it. This really focuses on the issues, even in christian relationships. We all need to wake up to this movie and see it. I really highly recommend it to anyone.

Several members of the ministry staff of ChristianAnswers® Team Member Living Waters/Way of the Master went to a sneak preview of “Fireproof” (premiers September 26, 2008). The consensus was universal, this movie is a “slam-dunk.”

Ray Comfort:
“‘Fireproof’ isn't just a wonderful, entertaining, heartwarming, life-changing tear-jerker. It presents a powerful and clear God-honoring gospel message that will make you want to shout for joy. Kirk Cameron's performance is stunning.”
Emeal “E.Z.” Zwayne, Executive Vice President, Living Waters:
“Simply put, ‘Fireproof’ is a life changer! It powerfully and creatively delivers a timely message to a generation that desperately needs it. It is one of the most inspirational movies I have every seen. I can hardly wait to take my friends to see it!”
Mark Spence, Dean of the School of Biblical Evangelism:
“I loved this movie for the sole reason that it was a breath of fresh air in the midst of the normal Hollywood smog. I've seldom witnessed audiences participating in a film as much as this one. There was crying, laughing, and cheering from the crowd. I have to say, that in an age of super budgeted feature films where most come and go in a couple of weeks after tanking, ‘Fireproof’ outshines and out classes them with this heartfelt homerun.”
